Understanding the National Pension Scheme (NPS)

NPS is a voluntary, long-term retirement savings scheme designed to enable a systematic saving habit. At retirement (maturity), you can withdraw a part of the corpus as a lump sum (max 60%) and must use the remaining part (min 40%) to purchase an annuity plan, which provides a regular monthly pension.
